Tour Guide Freelance (+optional Marketing Assistant) – French Riviera

About the Role
This role combines leading guided tours from Cannes to Monaco and other places. Your focus at the beginning will be on Cannes and Antibes before growing to the other locations. There’s a possiblity for the person interested to participate in the company’s growth through marketing, sales, and digital initiatives. It’s perfect for an energetic individual finishing their studies or an aspiring entrepreneur eager to learn, grow, and make a lasting impact.
As a Tour Guide (+optional Marketing Assistant), you’ll gain valuable skills in:
- Tour Operations:
- Delivering unforgettable guided tours in Antibes, Cannes, and occasionally other Riviera cities. Could be walking tours, e-bike tours, tasting tours…
- Conduct engaging and informative tours of key landmarks, places of note and historical sites in Antibes, Caees and other cities of the French Riviera.
- Share captivating stories, anecdotes, and fun facts about those cities’ history, culture, and architecture.
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests, addressing questions and ensuring a positive experience for all.
- Navigate tour groups safely, adhering to safety guidelines and regulations, along a preset tour route.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure tour logistics and scheduling are seamless.
- Stay up-to-date with the French Riviera current events, attractions, and developments to enhance tour content.
- Recommend activities for guests to do all around the coast but also in the countryside.
- Public Speaking: Gain confidence speaking in front of a crowd. Express yourself loud and clear.
- Optional(Marketing & Sales): Contributing to marketing strategies, social media content, email campaigns, and partner networking.
- Optional(Content Creation): Writing blogs, improving website content, and engaging with our audience online.
- Optional(Business Development): Helping grow our public and private tours while building connections with travel agencies and partners.
What We’re Looking For
Requirements:
- Location: Ideally, you live in or are ready to relocate to the French Riviera (Cannes and Antibes are more strategic as a base) for a few years.
- Commitment: Open to both full-time (with flexibility) or part-time roles. Great as a fun side job or main focus!
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential, French is great. Other languages are welcome.
Excellent verbal communication and storytelling skills with a native level of English Language.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage diverse groups of people.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Background in tourism, customer service, or people-facing roles is a big plus.
- Personality: Friendly, approachable, fun, and professional.
- A local’s knowledge of Antibes, Cannes and other cities of teh French Riviera’s geography, landmarks, historical significance, quirks, attractions, and activities is a plus.
- Optional: WordPress, SEO, and newsletter.
- Optional: Social media management and video editing.
- Optional: Photography with a good eye for visuals.
Physical Requirements:
- No specific physical required, but a general level of fitness is helpful for tours. Especially on e-bikes.
Compensation
- You’ll get a generous commission-based pay + bonuses, transportation costs partially covered*. A per hour or per tour remuneration can be also an option.
Work Hours:
- Depeding on our agreement, a few hours on-site are required and potentially a bit of flexible remote work.
- Seasonal intensity: busier during summer, allowing for more rest in the winter months.
Location
- Public Tours: Most of our public tours are taking places in Antibes and Cannes.
- Private Tours: They can take place anywhere on the French Riviera. Transportation cost is covered if needed.
